It's been almost 2 months since the initiation of my tablet machine that can read brain waves and input that into images on a tablet. It's come a long way and I want to finalize all the detail that will go into it.
The machine is essentially a tablet that will turn whatever you're seeing or thinking at the moment you're using it into images onto the tablet. To do this will require a very powerful processor along with a motherboard to go along with it as well as sound and a decent graphics card. It'll be like having an extra computer. The main purpose of this tablet is to assist in the classroom although it can have extra uses like during interrogation of a criminal.
Often times when one's teacher is speaking too fast or is giving out too much information at once, the students get lost in the lecture. The tablet is an answer to that. By paying attention and processing your own thoughts and your own words onto the tablet into images, this helps a lot with studying because the hand can only write so fast compared to the words per minute that comes out of the mouth.
RAM, processor, motherboard, hard drive, motherboard, and graphics card are all needed for the success of the tablet. These ensure smooth use and storage. Furthermore, since all these hardware will need to be top notch to support such an intensive memory consuming program (the brain reading should take a lot of memory), the tablet will probably be very expensive. To ameliorate the selling process, I will use facebook and gamification to support sales.
The tablet will also use bits and bytes for size measurement in storage. Furthermore, the tablet will have to be unicode if I want it to have the world as its market. Rather than just be ASCII, where only the western world can be reached, I want the whole world to feel the impact of my tablet. Rich people have money to spend but no worth good to spend it on. My tablet will be that good.
Lastly, the operating system will be very important. At the moment, the most powerful operating system for a tablet is Windows 8. The Windows 8 may not have the capabilities to turn brain waves into images that well. So my machine will probably have to wait a couple of years until a more powerful operating system comes out. Thanks to Moore's Law, I probably won't have to wait too long until my tablet becomes a reality.
Finally, I need to hire someone who can present like Steve Jobs. Much of apple's success comes from Steve Job's great presenting skill to the crowd. He knows how to play the crowd. I need someone like that to help promote my tablet. With a combination of the tablet, facebook, and a good presenter, my tablet will be real.

operating system lecture post
My entrepreneurial idea is to produce a machine that reads your brain waves and transmits those brain waves into physical activity, or images onto a tablet computer. If i were to will it, I can paint a whole landscape with my brain or take lecture notes with my brain onto a tablet.
The operating system of any system unit is the heart and is the most important thing. Obviously it's going to need a GUI operating system rather than a command line because command line interface will be super complicated to deal with especially since there are other tablets out there that have a competitive advantage of being simple and easy to use. My tablet has to match other tablets in simplicity and efficiency.
The operating system should also be single user and multitasking because the technology is available. An Ipad can multitask pretty well. Although the Ipad is kind of the king of the crop when it comes to tablets (it's the most popular tablet on the market now), I think my tablet should use Windows 8 OS. Windows 8 OS is going to be a new OS designed for tablets in mind. "It's a tablet first, and desktop second". It's going to be an entire OS compared to Apple's IOS which is just a modification of their first one.
In the end, the operating system will need a pretty good operating system with a powerful processor. It's going to have multitasking so the user can listen to music while surfing the web and entering the brain waves translated into words into the search function.

Just like every other tablet on the market today, my tablet should also be able to read many languages. Although 8bit, or ASCII, can read most languages already, it can't read all all of them. ASCII can not read Asian languages, and I intend for my tablet to be accessible to the whole world. Therefore, my tablet must be unicode and not ASCII.
Unicode allows the tablet to process Asian languages as well as Western languages. This is very important considering that Japan and Korea are big technology producing countries. The tablet also needs sound. Especially when a student is at home reviewing the things he learned in school. He might want the tablet to read out loud his own thoughts to him, then he'll remember his train of thought. Some people are visual learners; others, audal learners.
The tablet will probably need to broadcast its sounds at 20-20,000 htz, since that's the range of a human's ears' hearing capacity. Anything extra can be thrown away. So the tablet will probably record in mp3 format rather than wav since mp3 compresses it down while wav just has extra stuff that the human ear can't hear. competitive analysis

The mind reader machine advocated by scientists is more for the medical field. They're trying to analyze seizures patients more and understand which neurons fire when they think of a certain celebrity.
One outcome of this is that, “if the patient learns to control neurons perfectly, instead of having the image appear on the screen you can connect his brain to a cursor,” Cerf said.
The difference between their's and mine is mine is the next step in the learning process. Being a student for 20 years, I think it's really important to be learning as efficiently as possible.

The ability to write down your thought process in an instant is almost science fictional, but the day will come soon that people won't need to look at the teacher, then to the blackboard, then quickly jot down a big mass of notes. Also, these 2 science machines utilize electrodes attached to the brain. Maybe I will use a computer chip, given Moore's Law of the number of transistors on a circuit doubling every 2 years. Maybe 10 years later, the strength and power of a computer chip will be so great it can send information to the tablet remotely.

In order for my idea to work, there must be an actual tablet that can read my brain waves.
However, the human brain is an extremely complex system. To play a game with complex algorithms, the computer reading the game must be very powerful. Following that logic, the machine that translates your brainwaves onto a tablet must also have lots of power.
A powerful motherboard, processor, RAM, hard drive, and graphics card are needed for this tablet. The motherboard is the main circuit unit so it needs to be strong to match everything else other the whole system will suffer. The process also needs to be strong because it's like the brain of the whole computer. Every single action the tablet takes will have to go through the processor. A good processor makes a fast computer. You might need a quad core processor so the tablet won't lag while you're creating an image on it. Furthermore, the arithmetic logic unit needs to also be powerful.
RAM is necessary because while the machine is reading your brain waves, it also needs to write down or copy down the information it's reading and turn it into images for you. Just reading the brainwaves will use up a lot of power, so lots of RAM is required. More RAM equals a faster computer. In addition, lots of hard drive space is needed too to store the images your brain makes. In the future, Solid state drives should make reading speed faster also so the overall performance will improve. A good graphics card is very important because you want the images you create to look like the ones you envision. If your brain 'sees' 3 calculus equations in class, but because your graphics card sucks, then your equations might be mixed up because it's not reading the images clearly. We're in an age of HD now. Everything needs to be clear and crisp.
Maybe a sound card will be required too but a powerful one isn't really necessary.

There is a slight problem however, every piece of new technology that comes out will be very expensive. When the apple IPhone came out, the price was outrageous. Yet today the price of the IPhone dropped significantly but the business is still doing so well. The key to widespread use isn't in the price, but in the qualitative marketing and scale of economy.
Humans are competitive in nature and inherently want to constantly proclaim "AH HA! I'm better than you!". By using facebook, this product can attain widespread use. Why? Facebook has 2 advantages this product needs. 1) It has a WIDE audience. - What this translates into is a huge market pool. It's like having a bunch of fish in a pool. Now you just need the fishing rod.
Gamification is the answer. Badges, awards, ranking help us proclaim to the world 'I got this much, what do you got? Suck my dust.' 2) Facebook has gamification. Put 1) and 2) together and you have a product that will enjoy widespread acclaim and reviews, something that companies pour millions of dollars into, and people's competitive nature can be satiated. When the IPhone first came out, people were posting on facebook where they were, what they were thinking with their phones. On the bottom of their posts would say '-posted with my IPhone.' This is the "AH HA I'm better than you!" I'm talking about. I'm saying I have an IPhone, new technology, and you don't. My machine can also incorporate gamification in it. For example, for every minute I actively use my machine I would get an award or badge to post on facebook. Maybe I can unlock a new skin for my tablet while I'm at it.
